Tonight observe game as they come to the lodge’s flood-lit waterhole to drink water. Dinner and overnight stay at The Ark Lodge (B/L/D) http://www.marasa.net/properties/the-ark

DAY 3:
2 JANUARY – 30 JUNE 2018
ABERDARE – LAKE NAIVASHA (Approximately 4 hours drive)
After breakfast, we travel into the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha a beautiful fresh water lake, fringed by thick papyrus. Arrive in time to check in and later have lunch. The lake is almost 13kms wide, but its waters are shallow. The lake and its surroundings are rich in natural beauty, and the fertile soils and water supply have made this one of Kenya’s prime agricultural regions. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores. Giraffes are often seen wondering among the acacia, buffalo wallow in the swamps and Colobus monkeys call from the treetops while the Lake’s large hippo population sleeps the day out in the shallow waters. Sunsets are stunning; with the haunting call of a Fish Eagle high over the lake bringing the day to a perfect end. Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Country Club (B/L/D) http://www.sunafricahotels.com/pg_lncc.php

DAY 4:
2 JANUARY – 30 JUNE 2018
LAKE NAIVASHA – MASAI MARA (Approximately 6 hours drive)
After breakfast, depart for the world famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at your camp for check-in and have lunch. The camp blends in perfectly with its surrounding hillside landscape. The accent here is on the Masai people and the wealth of wildlife, birdlife, and natural flora to be found in the fabled Masai Mara Game Reserve. Enjoy an afternoon 1600hrs game drive around the world famous Mara. Dinner and overnight stay at the Mara Leisure Camp (B/L/D) http://www.maraleisurecamp.co.ke/

DAY 5:
2 JANUARY – 30 JUNE 2018
MASAI MARA
Full day spent in the Mara with early morning 0630hrs and afternoon 1600hrs game drives. All meals and overnight stay at the Mara Leisure Camp (B/L/D) Masai Mara offers an absolutely unique variety of animals. The reason is that this hilly region is both humid and fertile, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers, full of crocodiles and hippos. The abundance of water and excellent availability of food are the reasons why the Masai Mara, which in fact is a continuation of the Tanzanian Serengeti National Park, has the greatest population of wild animals in the whole of Africa. There is a particularly dramatic “spectacle” from July to October, the annual migration of huge herds of Gnus and zebras. Predators such as Hyenas, Jackals, Leopards and Lions of course, closely follow these herds. Gigantic herds of over 200 buffaloes can also be observed. Plenty of food is available for elephants, giraffes, and the many species of antelopes.

OPTIONAL (hot air balloon taking off in the beautiful early morning, you drift above the browsing game and have tremendous opportunities for unusual photographs. What could be more uplifting than an early morning safari in a hot air balloon flying over the vast plains of Africa? Witness an African sunrise as a plethora of wildlife roam the land beneath you. At the end of the flight you land on the plains, in the midst of this enchanting savannah a champagne breakfast is laid out with the mouth watering aroma of sausages, eggs, and bacon, sizzling over a charcoal fire. Drive in a leisurely fashion with game viewing on your way back to your camp).
